Can I get a rain check?

Ulyanovsk Gov. Sergei Morozov has decreed Sept. 12 a Day of Conception and is giving couples time off from work to procreate. Couples who give birth nine months later on Russia’s national day — June 12 — will receive money, cars, refrigerators and other prizes.

A smaller region in Russia declared September 12 as a "Day of Conception" and they were offering folks time off from work to go home and make babies. I think we should have a day like that here in the States. Or at least a F---- You day. Or F---- yourself day. Anything with that favorite word in it.

I don't know about you, but I'd love to have a day to go home and "try" to conceive. Sounds like unadulterated fun to me. Here's why we must defer on occasion to the richness of Russian culture. Where else could you be sent home to F--- in the name of patriotism? And to think that some commentary from the locals says they aren't buying it.
